Our History

Alta Vista Elementary is located on the southern end of Haines City, Fl. The original campus was constructed by the School Board of Polk County in 1962 and J.D. Jenkins was the founding principal. Additional buildings were added over the following decades with our most recent addition being in 2004. Our campus currently serves the parts of the communities of Haines City, Lake Hamilton, and Dundee.

What Makes Us Different?

At Alta Vista, we place a special emphasis on helping student develop excellent social and emotional skills as they also increase their academic skills. We promote these goals through the display and recitation of our student creed as part of our announcements every morning:
